The management program of these facilities were organised by participating with local citizens. The role of this facility was to be a ‘base-site’ for the mountain-climbing and ‘base-site of opened welfare’ was set to be a goal.
1. Friendly open space with easy access.
2. To organise the complex facilities to realise the normalisation.
3. Cooperating with health centre for the aged in the adjacency, function and characteristic to each identity, the activity is given to common space, which combines these aspects.
4. The whole site is considered one park where gardening, and roof vegetation are carried out. It is made to be the plan, where the ecological consideration of ventilation and lighting is carried out.
Facilities are placed into segmentations whilst considering the harmony with the surrounding neighbourhood. The sequence is determined by the composition in which figure and ground meet. A day care centre is established next to the health centre for the aged, to improve the complex as a whole.
Common space which combines each zones, is composed of community hall, day care centre and courtyard, is assumed in the space with the most activity. The multipurpose hall was simulated considering the acoustic and this was created by a specialist. The common space has to be designed with ease of use. It can be used as both a dressing room and Japanese-style room, the curving wall as gallery, establishing the bar counter in the community hall, when various application methods are desired.
In the design process, the workshop and hearing was repeated several times with a 30 persons committee. This commitee grants the dream of the home welfare’ and includes the citizen representatives.
