House at Takayanagi is a residence combined with a studio. The southernmost end of the one-sided roof of the studio serves as an entrance, this is created by extended the front of the dwelling. The wooden deck which covers it allows an outdoor party or stage space. The living room of the well was made into a rafters structure which is parallel to the direction of a one-sided roof. An opening on the south features wooden louvers and these are a result of a simulation experiment of the solar attitude.
The interior space of the studio is as limited as possible, to a necessary minimum partition and can be made into one big well space. The tall slit window was designed for the domain of the staff.
