Care Centre Kurinomi is located nearby a main hosbital of the region in the Northern part of Miyagi prefecture. The project has been supported by the locals established in order to provide low-payment nursing homes.
This centre is a collective housing having 20 rooms mainly for singles and attaching management offices and kitchen units. In order to give residents a homey touch we minimized arranging a single line of rooms and aimed at daylighting from two sides.
A gethering space for the residents is designed with flexible doors and windows to blur boundaries among dining halls, meeting rooms, and passageways. The space has a high ceiling which enables to let in light from the high sidelight.
