Accompanied by the opening of the Tozai Line subway, the Visitor Center is the new gateway to Yagiyama zoo.
Direct access is provided from the Zoo station to the wild life park by a bridge and as a result of this, an increase of visitors is expected in this urban-type zoo.
As a gateway to welcome visitors, the building reflects a simple and large gate . By using timber construction and materials that are produced in the region, it takes into consideration enviromental issues such as global warming and the promotion of local production for local consumption.
